SANCTIONS IMPOSED BY ARRT’S ETHICS COMMITTEE
The ARRT Ethics Committee can impose a variety of sanctions, which are defined here. If you have questions about anyone whose name appears on our sanctioned list—including whether that person is eligible to represent himself or herself as an R.T. or R.R.A.—contact ARRT at 651.687.0048. Choose the option for ethics information.
- Reprimand: This form of discipline declares that specific conduct was improper, but it doesn’t limit the person’s right to use the ARRT credential. There are public and private reprimands. We publish public reprimands on our website’s sanction list for one year; we don’t publish private reprimands.
- Ineligible for Certification and Registration: This person is not eligible for certification and registration.
- Ineligible for Reinstatement of Certification and Registration: This person isn’t currently eligible to reinstate his or her certification and registration.
- Suspension: This person’s certification and registration is suspended for a period of time. He or she can’t use an ARRT credential, designation, mark, or name in any manner for any purpose during the suspension. Suspension can lead to additional sanctions, up to and including revocation of certification and registration.
- Summary Suspension: This person’s certification and registration is immediately suspended. We typically use this sanction in situations where there is potential for harm to patients or the public. This person can’t use an ARRT credential, designation, mark, or name in any manner for any purpose during the suspension. Summary suspension can lead to additional sanctions, up to and including revocation of certification and registration.
- Revocation: This person’s certification and registration has been removed. Revocation is the most serious ethics sanction imposed. This person is prohibited from using an ARRT credential, designation, mark, or name in any manner for any purpose for a specified period of time.
ADDITIONAL ADVERSE ACTIONS
- Denied Reinstatement: Based upon evidence provided to the Ethics Committee, ARRT has denied this person the opportunity to reinstate his or her certification and registration. This person is NOT certified and registered by ARRT.
- Court Injunction: We pursue court orders against people who have been sanctioned through the ARRT ethics review process and who misrepresent themselves as ARRT certified and registered. We also seek court injunctions against people who have never been certified and registered with ARRT, but who have claimed to be. The court can issue an injunction prohibiting people from using an ARRT credential, designation, mark, or name in any manner for any purpose.
- Settlement Agreement: Based upon misrepresentation or continued misrepresentation, this person has entered into a negotiated agreement with ARRT to avoid legal action.
