SONOGRAPHY EDUCATORS: KNOW HOW TO PREVENT WORK-RELATED DISORDERS
If you teach sonography, you should be aware that a conference hosted by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) resulted in Industry Standards for the Prevention of Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders in Sonography. ARRT was one of the organizations that took part in the conference.
Work-related musculoskeletal disorders affect the muscles, nerves, ligaments, and tendons of up to 80 percent of sonographers and other people who use diagnostic medical sonography equipment. Improving your posture and the ergonomics of your work environment can help prevent injuries and manage the progression of symptoms.
We encourage you to read the document and share the information with your students.
