More Students Can Apply Online for ARRT Credentials
Good news! We’ve simplified the application process for students who are pursuing additional ARRT credentials using our primary eligibility pathway. Those students can now apply online. Previously, they had to submit paper applications.
Who’s Eligible?
The change applies to candidates who’ve already earned at least one ARRT credential and who are pursuing an additional credential by completing an educational program.
What Should These Students Do?
Students affected by this change already have ARRT online accounts. They’ll need to supply their discipline, school, and expected graduation date for the additional credential they’re pursuing. To do so, they must:
- Log in to their ARRT online account.
- Click on the Earn Additional Credentials link (at the top of their dashboard, to the right of their name).
- Locate the gray box under Primary Eligibility Pathway on the page that opens.
- Click on “provide details” (in blue) to open the Educational Program Information form.
- Complete and submit the form.
What Do Program Directors Need to Do?
When we receive an Educational Program Information form, we’ll send you an email asking you to confirm that the student is enrolled in, or has completed, your educational program. This is the same process you follow when verifying other student accounts. (See Your Role When Students Are Preparing to Apply With ARRT.)
Final Steps for Candidates
Candidates can then view their application status and see their next steps on their ARRT account dashboard. Once they meet all educational eligibility requirements—including completing their educational program and meeting all degree requirements—they’ll have three years to apply for the new ARRT credential.
Students may apply up to 90 days before they complete their educational program. They must apply at least 30 days before their three-year eligibility period ends.
