REMIND STUDENTS OF APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Published July 2019
We frequently receive calls about our degree requirement. Be sure your students understand that they must meet the following requirements before they can apply for certification and registration with ARRT:
- Complete an associate or higher degree, in any subject, from an educational institution accredited by an agency ARRT recognizes
- Complete an ARRT-recognized education program in the discipline they’re pursuing
- Demonstrate competency in your formal classroom education (didactic coursework), your program’s clinical requirements, and ARRT’s list of clinical competencies
Once they satisfy those requirements, they must complete their application and ask the Program Director and authorized faculty member (if necessary) to sign their application. Once students meet all educational eligibility requirements, they have three years to apply for ARRT certification and registration. Once they apply, they have three years in which to pass the ARRT exam in their discipline, and they will have up to three attempts to do so.
Students can find more details beginning on Page 6 of the Primary Eligibility Pathway Handbook. Students pursing a credential using the postprimary eligibility pathway have different requirements. They should consult the Postprimary Eligibility Pathway Handbook.
