NEW ARRT ID NUMBERS WILL BE SEVEN DIGITS
Published July 2019
As ARRT approaches its 100th anniversary, the number of R.T.s and candidates for ARRT credentials continues to grow. More than 335,000 professionals now hold at least one ARRT credential. That number, combined with past candidates and people who once had ARRT certification and registration, means that we’re close to running out of six-digit identification numbers.
Beginning no later than 2020, we’ll change to a seven-digit identification number. All newly assigned identification numbers will begin with a 1, such as 1000027. Existing six-digit numbers won’t change.
We’ve attempted to contact all educational institutions and other organizations who might use our identification numbers in their own data systems. Please share this notice with your Information Technology (IT) staff and ask someone to contact us at Communications@arrt.org if this change will affect your institution. We can provide additional information, including a list of technical specifications specific to IT areas.
If you or anyone else have immediate questions about this change, please email us at itassets@arrt.org.
