STUDENTS CAN APPLY FOR ADA ACCOMMODATIONS
Published July 2019
If your students have certain disabilities that might impair their exam performance, they can apply for accommodations under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). Students are eligible if they demonstrate that:
- They have an ADA-qualifying disability and
- The disability results in substantial functional limitations that affect their daily life activities, as compared to most people
In most cases, students will have to submit supporting documentation and a personal statement describing the disability.
To request accommodations, students must answer yes to the question about accommodations on their application for ARRT certification and registration. After we receive the application, we’ll send students instructions on applying for testing accommodations with Paradigm Testing, an independent company that manages our ADA testing accommodations requests.
Accommodations can’t change the number of questions in an exam or alter the content an exam covers. And the accommodations don’t guarantee an improved performance, a passing score, or any specific outcome.
