On May 21, 2019, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs established qualification standards for the Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) position at the VA’s 1,200 medical centers across the country.

The VA will now pursue hiring R.R.A.s in their facilities.

R.R.A.s perform many procedures that a radiologist would otherwise do. Responsibilities include assessing and managing patients, along with performing select clinical procedures. Learn more about the R.R.A. position.
