ARRT Introduces Primary Eligibility Pathway for Vascular Sonography

Candidates Can Earn ARRT Certification and Registration at No Cost for a Limited Time in Spring 2021

In spring 2021, ARRT will introduce a primary eligibility pathway for students who want to earn ARRT certification and registration in Vascular Sonography. We’ll continue offering the postprimary eligibility pathway in Vascular Sonography as well.

In addition, from May 26, 2021, through June 15, 2021, we’ll offer qualified candidates in Vascular Sonography an opportunity to complete the ARRT certification and registration process at no cost. Usually the process costs $200.

ARRT has offered certification and registration in Vascular Sonography since 2001. ARRT’s credential is recognized by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), the American College of Radiology (ACR), Medicare, and third-party payors.

ABOUT THE PATHWAYS

When ARRT introduced its credential in 2001, most vascular sonographers learned their profession from on-the-job training. Now, many complete a formal training program. With our primary eligibility pathway, students can earn an ARRT Vascular Sonography credential immediately after completing their education.

Candidates using the primary eligibility pathway must meet our educationethics, and examination requirements. Education requirements for the primary eligibility pathway include:

Candidates using the postprimary eligibility pathway don’t have to complete an educational program in vascular sonography, but they must meet other requirements detailed in our Postprimary Eligibility Pathway Handbook.

ABOUT THE SPRING 2021 OPPORTUNITY

As noted above, ARRT will offer candidates a chance to complete the certification and registration process in Vascular Sonography without paying our usual fee. The opportunity is available to eligible candidates who use either the primary or the postprimary eligibility pathway.

To take advantage of the opportunity, eligible candidates must submit applications postmarked no later than April 30, 2021.

After candidates take the exam, we’ll evaluate their score and set the passing standard. We’ll let candidates know their exam results beginning July 30, 2021.

Beginning June 16, 2021, we’ll continue to offer certification and registration in Vascular Sonography at the regular cost of $200.
