Since examinations are required to be practice related, ARRT periodically conducts a job analysis to make certain that the examination content specifications remain comprehensive, accurate, and fair. ARRT, with the help of the professional community, reviews the examination documents approximately every five years.
The ARRT Board of Trustees recently approved changes to the following document that will go into effect on July 1, 2023.
Overview of Major Changes to the Content Specifications
- In the Patient Care section, content about Patient Assessment and Preparation was expanded. Patient Monitoring became its own sub-section. The Infection Control and Prevention content changed to Asepsis and Sterile Technique content that is more applicable to CI radiographers.
- In the Image Production section, additional procedural equipment was added.
- In the Procedures section under Diagnostic and Electrophysiology Procedures, additional peripheral angiography sites, leadless pacemaker, and lead extraction were added.
