At its July Board of Trustees meeting, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) extended the recognition of five organizations as continuing education (CE) partners:
- Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- SNMMI-TS: Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Technologist Section
- International Society for MR Radiographers and Technologists (ISMRT)
- Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS)
- AHRA: The Association for Medical Imaging Management
Each organization earned five-year recognition as a CE approver. The Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) also earned five-year recognition as a CE tracker. SNMMI-TS and the ISMRT also earned five-year recognition as a CE transferor.
ARRT evaluates the entities based on our recognition criteria for CE partners
- CE approvers review CE activities and determine whether educational activities meet ARRT requirements. If so, CE approvers determine the credit value awarded for completing the activity. We previously referred to organizations that helped ARRT with evaluation of CE activities as Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanisms (RCEEMs) or State Licensing Agencies (SLAs).
- CE trackers verify completion of CE activities and maintain records of CE activities that technologists complete.
- CE transferors electronically submit technologists’ records of completed CE activities to ARRT.
We update the list of currently recognized entities on the ARRT website when the recognition status of CE partners changes. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency has voluntarily removed its ARRT recognition to evaluate CE activities for Category A credit.
