At its Board of Trustees meeting, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) extended recognition for the radiologist assistant program at Midwestern State University for another five years.
People who graduate from the radiologist assistant program at Midwestern State University —while it’s recognized—will meet ARRT’s educational eligibility requirement of completing a program recognized by ARRT. As advanced-level radiographers, R.R.A.s extend a radiologist’s capacity by performing various health care procedures. R.R.A.s work in hospitals and private practices.
To get or maintain ARRT recognition, educational programs must meet criteria including accreditation, clinical education, and preceptorship requirements. ARRT evaluates programs based on our Recognition Criteria for Radiologist Assistant Education Programs. Five years is the maximum recognition time ARRT awards for radiologist assistant programs seeking continued recognition.
ARRT recognizes the radiologist assistant educational programs at:
- Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California
- Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas
- Quinnipiac University, Hamden, Connecticut
- Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey
- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Weber State University, Ogden, Utah
