HOW TO USE THE ETHICS REVIEW PREAPPLICATION
Published May 2018
Make sure your students understand how and when to use ARRT’s Ethics Review Preapplication. This form is only for students who have a potential ethics violation to report. And students can use it only if they won’t graduate for at least eight more months.
WHY USE THE FORM?
The Ethics Review Preapplication isn’t a background check for everyone. Students should use it only if they answer yes to one or more of these questions:
- Have you ever been charged with or convicted in court of a misdemeanor or felony (including conviction of a similar offense in a military court-martial)?
- Has a regulatory authority or certification board—other than ARRT—ever done any of the following actions:
- Denied, revoked, or suspended your professional license, permit, registration, or certification
- Placed you on probation (excluding ARRT Continuing Education probation), under consent agreement, or under consent order
- Allowed voluntary surrender of your professional license, permit, registration, or certification
- Subjected you to any conditions or disciplinary actions?
- While attending an educational program to meet ARRT certification and registration requirements, were you ever suspended, dismissed, or expelled from that program?
Consult the form or the Primary Eligibility Pathway Handbook for specifics on when to answer yes to those questions.
Remember: If they don’t have an ethics violation to report, students shouldn’t submit the Ethics Review Preapplication.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?
Students can use the Ethics Review Preapplication up until eight months before they graduate. If they’ll graduate within eight months and they have a violation to report, they must report it on their Application for Certification and Registration instead.
