RADIATION THERAPY CUT SCORE CHANGES IN 2019

On Jan. 1, 2019, ARRT will begin using a new cut score for the Radiation Therapy examination. Although we’ll continue to report the exam’s cut score as a scaled score of 75, the new cut score will require passing candidates to answer a few more questions correctly than they had to in the past.

IMPROVED HANDBOOKS AND APPLICATION FORMS

Did you know that we’re rewriting our handbooks to make them easier for students to understand? The new Primary Eligibility Pathway Handbook has been up since January. The other four handbooks are in process and should be available soon. We've also updated our applications—request them on the Program Directors website.

STUDENTS UNDER ETHICS REVIEW MAY STILL SCHEDULE, TAKE EXAM

Under a new policy, students may now schedule and sit for ARRT exams—even if they’re under an ARRT ethics review.

APPLICANTS MUST REPORT ETHICS VIOLATIONS WITHIN 30 DAYS

Students who are applying for certification and registration with ARRT must notify us of any ethics violations within 30 days of their occurrence.

UPDATE COURSE INFO FOR 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

Beginning June 1, you’ll be able to update your course information for R.T.s who might need specific types of continuing education (CE) credits.

Some students who are already Registered Technologists (R.T.s) want to submit the courses they take for continuing education (CE) credit. Learn more about course requirements and how to provide students with documentation that will be accepted by ARRT.

REMIND STUDENTS TO USE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION PHOTOS

Each year, ARRT returns about 20 percent of the applications we receive for certification and registration without processing them. The main problem? Unacceptable photos.

There are a number of requirements to earning a new ARRT credential using the postprimary eligibility pathway. If some of your students are using this pathway, help them understand important deadlines for clinical procedures and structured education.

HOW TO USE ETHICS REVIEW PREAPPLICATION

Please make sure your students understand how and when to use ARRT’s Ethics Review Preapplication. This form is only for students who have an ethics violation to report. And students can use it only if they won’t graduate for at least six more months.
