USE NEW FORMS FOR ADVANCED PLACEMENT STUDENTS
Published May 2018
Do you offer advanced placement options for students who have previous professional education or experience?
If so, be sure those students are using our new advanced placement forms. You can download them from the Program Director website. Advanced placement students must submit the completed ARRT form when they apply for certification and registration with ARRT. The advanced placement forms must match the student’s graduation year.
If you offered advanced placement in the past, but don’t anymore, please let us know by calling 651.687.0048. We’ll take your school off our list of educational institutions with advanced placement options.
ARRT ADVANCED PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
Although your program is free to set its own requirements for advanced placement students, ARRT requires that, at minimum, our advanced placement candidates must:
- Have previously completed a technologist-based education program in the discipline for which the candidate is seeking a credential: radiography, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, sonography, or magnetic resonance imaging, or a radiologist assistant program that ARRT recognizes
- Complete didactic and clinical assessments for each course in your program’s nonadvanced placement curriculum
- Complete the final assessment for each course in your program’s nonadvanced placement curriculum
If students were previously enrolled in your program, and they’re now applying for advanced placement, you must conduct new assessments. If advanced placement students don’t demonstrate sufficient didactic knowledge during the initial assessment, they must complete the appropriate course or didactic activity to gain the appropriate knowledge.
