In support of our mission, we:
- Develop and administer examinations that assess the knowledge and skills underlying the intelligent performance of the tasks typically required by professional practice in the discipline. These examinations, together with our standards for educational preparation and professional behavior consistent with the level of responsibility required by professional practice, establish the rigorous standards to maintain public trust and safety provision of exceptional patient care by medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals.
- Partner with health care organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to advance the field and promote safe, high-quality patient care, provided by qualified medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals.
- Support the profession through policies and practices that promote exceptional, safe, high-quality patient care provided by qualified medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals. We develop and administer exams to assess the knowledge and skills required for professional practice, and adopt and uphold the educational preparation and professional behavior standards consistent with the level of responsibility required by professional practice.
An ARRT credential shows patients, the public, and the medical community that you are qualified to practice within the profession. It signifies a commitment to ongoing education and high ethical standards. ARRT also recognizes individuals who continue to meet these standards through continuing education.
