2026 Fee Change FAQs

What ARRT fees are changing on Jan. 1, 2026?

  • Annual renewal fees are changing from $30 to $65, starting with those due in January 2026. This single fee will apply to all renewals, regardless of the number of credentials held. The most recent fee increase was 8 years ago in 2018.
  • The reinstatement fee, for R.T.s with lapsed credentials who don’t need to re-examine, is changing from $75 to $150. The most recent fee increase was 19 years ago in 2007.
  • The CE Probation fee, for R.T.s who don’t fulfill biennial CE requirements, is changing from $50 to $100. The most recent fee increase was 18 years ago in 2008.

Why is ARRT changing these fees?

  • Similar to other organizations, the cost of doing business has increased over time since we last raised fees. These fee changes will help offset some of these increasing costs. Fees paid to ARRT help pay for the cost of doing business.
  • We’re investing in modernizing our digital capabilities, updating our IT infrastructure, and simplifying our business processes, like moving away from paper to online applications and forms – all to better serve candidates and R.T.s.
  • Ultimately, these changes allow us to support the future of the profession and fulfill our mission to promote safe, high-quality patient care through credentialing, collaboration, and advocacy.

How do ARRT’s fees compare to similar allied health organizations?

Prior to making these fee changes, we benchmarked similar organizations to make sure our fees are comparable. We’ve always been at the lowest end of the fee range for allied health professionals. With these changes, ARRT will remain at the low midpoint of this fee range.

What is the annual cost to ARRT for maintaining credential(s) per R.T.?

We estimate that $65 is the operational cost to ARRT for maintaining credentials per R.T. That number equals the flat renewal fee of $65, regardless of the number of credentials held. The new fee takes effect Jan. 1, 2026.

How will R.T.s be notified about these fee changes?

  • Starting Nov. 1, 2024, all annual renewal reminder messages contain information about the 2026 renewal fee change.
  • Renewal fee change information is posted on all R.T. dashboards.
  • The Fees page on this website contains information about 2026 fee changes.
