UNDERSTANDING CONTINUING EDUCATION AUDITS
If you received notification that we’re auditing your Continuing Education (CE) activities, that means we’re looking for more information regarding the CE activities you reported.
We conduct CE audits for one of two reasons:
- You’re part of a random monthly sample of R.T.s who’ve recently reported CE activities
- The documentation from one or more of your CE activities was incomplete
We don’t select CE audits by work site—in fact, we don’t keep records of where you work. If one person at your work is audited, that doesn’t mean others will be audited, too.
HOW DO I RESPOND TO A CE AUDIT?
If you’ve received notification of a CE audit, you’ll have 30 days to submit documentation proving your participation in and completion of the CE activities you’ve reported.
Refer to your audit letter for the information that must appear on your CE activity documentation. Mail copies (not originals) of your documentation to:
ARRT
1255 Northland Drive
St. Paul, MN 55120
We don’t accept faxes or emails with CE documentation.
HOW LONG DOES THE AUDIT PROCESS TAKE?
It takes about two weeks for us to review and confirm your CE documents. We’ll send written notification of your CE audit results to the address we have on file for you.
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE PROPER DOCUMENTATION OR I DON’T RESPOND IN TIME?
If you don’t have sufficient documentation to prove completion of your CE activities, or if your documentation is such that we don’t accept one or more of your CE activities, you will be placed on CE probation status. The probation period is six months long and is retroactive to the end of your biennium. You’ll need to complete your CE requirements during this time frame.
If you don’t respond to your CE Audit Request letter, you risk losing your certification and registration. If that happens, you’d have to complete the reinstatement process to earn back your credentials.
If you have questions or are unsure about the process, call us directly at 651.687.0048. Choose the option for renewal, reinstatement, or continuing education.
